So first we cannot go past the Cox Plate I’m not disappointing I did not tip Winx I didn’t think before the race Winx deserved to be favourite on what she had shown previously. Her times in the company didn’t suggest superstar, not that I didn’t think she could do it but others like criterion and highland reel were already proven. But come Saturday I think we can all agree she is a superstar, while yes she was gifted the run and Moonee Valley was running extremely fast hence breaking the record the way she did and the united states broke the 2500m record even with these compliments she still bloused one of the best fields in a long time and she ran I think it was nearly a 69kg rating. That is unbelievable and with a little more improvement which you would expect puts her at a 70kg rating alongside some of the best horses to grace the track.
I will openly say it before the race she still had questions to answer but after the race well we all saw the results.
This weekend did not go the way we would have liked not many winner’s but there was enough places to make sure we didn’t finish the day down in a horrible spot, haven’t had a losing month yet so by the end of Derby Day let’s see if we can’t get back on top!
Need a boost to get back on top after the weekend ?

Let’s start the recap with Friday Night
Race 1 – I went with Baubo over Storm System and that got me good, Baubo got a great run loomed coming into the straight but had no sprint. Tye Angland offered no reasoning for the performance and a vet check showed no abnormalities so will have to put in a good performance before I back him again.
Race 3 – Was hoping to get back here but yet again another horse that had a good enough run that was flat in the straight, What is going on here. Yet again post race vet examination revealed no abnormalities and stable representatives had no clue as to why it was a coward but have to report back to stewards. Waltzing Willie my main tip for the race was scratched.
Race 6 – Usually I cannot bring myself to back the dodgy Gai Waterhouse but I went out on a limb for Festivity and was undone. To be fair it was close, coming around the bend she went very wide for no reason that probably cost her the race. Last prep she won second up over the mile so I’m expecting improvement from her if Gai hasn’t flogged her. Festivity is one for the blackbook.
Moonee Valley Friday Night
Race 2 – Slate On Edge was very gallant in defeat but in the end the weight was just to much, tough horse who will win another race soon.
Race 4 – First winner of the night about fucking time, only on my saver but tho geez! October has been a frustrating month so far but we can only go up from here ( Hopefully). Beau Brommel was my big bet but when they quickened around the corner he got left behind, he’s definitely not a Moonee Valley horse. I don’t think his prep is done for yet and we might be able to catch him at good odds next time out, one for the blackbook.
Manikato – Well the inside draw did not hinder Chautauqua at all did it. When they conerend Rebel Dane got wide enough to make sure Tommy Berry had no trouble at all getting through. I’m still not convinced tho for me he didn’t do enough to say that he will beat the young superstar Exosphere. John O’shea said he might not take Chautauqua on but on what Exosphere has been doing this spring I have his performance’s rating higher then that of Chautauqua. Also i copped some flak for not having Chautauqua to win in my first four. My quinella and trifecta were merely savers to my big bet of the first four. I was hoping Srikandi or Rebel Dane would sneak away with it while Chautauqua was pocketed but it wasn’t to be.
Race 1 – I advised only to have a bet on Timeless Prince if the track got to a soft 7 and it didn’t so hope you kept your cash in your pocket.
Race 4 – Happy Clapper put them away nicely first up, first bet of the day in Sydney and it was a big won good to get something back on my losses. I don’t see why he won’t win second up aswell. Blackbook him.
Race 8 – Losing by a nose typical October!!!
Moonee Valley Saturday
First let’s mention the state of the track. Sit on the pace and near the rail and you just about win. They really need to look into the scheduling of having the Manikato the night before. The inside lane played extremely fast we saw two records broken. Let’s look at the races though.
Race 2 – Tawteen burned to get across to get in the dream lane and was to strong from there. Both Diamond Oasis and General Jackson finished very close.
Race 3 – I mentiond the Badawiya form and My Popetter franked it. I was on Thames Court who come out of the same race as My Popette but My Popette from barrier one drove to the front on the rail, that dream lane, and could not be run down. Going forward both Silent Sedition and Thames Court ran well against the bias will be black booking both of them
Race 8 – Wow did Bow Creek drift out I recomendded two units at $6 but he jumped at $14 and $4 the place. It was to late to inform everyone of this but I hope you backed him the place, I made up for my losses thanks to him. He will be a big show going forward! Massive Blackbooker.
We finished the day down 20 units putting us to about 10 units down for the month but like I said haven’t had a losing month yet so let’s turn it around this week!
